Made In Japan

Japan created the best jeans in the world. True ? This is one fine example.

In other cities jeans are seen as a fashion fallback that can be pulled on without thinking, but Tokyo’s trendsetters see denim as a matter for careful consideration, and they are willing to pay more for a nice pair.

And so, it seems, are a growing number of international denim fanatics who feed their habit through overseas stockists and eBay.

A lot swear that once you’ve tried Japanese denim you can never, ever go back.

Under H2o Kisses

Are you into a wet kiss? Couples took part in the International underwater kissing contest in Italy at the weekend.

In the underwater kissing event, The contestants have to kiss underwater in a transparent swimming pool for as long as they can.

Peru's Fidel Rios and Italy's Claudia Pettazzoni won the world's longest underwater kiss title with a time of 1 min 51 sec.

The Italian Adriatic seaside resort of Riccione hosts the event.

Biggest Swimmimg PooL

Situated in South American resort of San Alfonso Del Mar in Chile, this artificial lagoon and swimming pool is eight hectares in size and contains an incredible 250,000 cubic meters of water.

Acknowledged by Guinness World Records as being the world's largest swimming pool.

This one took five years to build, cost nearly £1billion and the annual maintenance bill will be £2million.

Chile’s monster pool uses a computer- controlled suction and filtration system to keep fresh seawater in permanent circulation, drawing it in from the ocean at one end and pumping it out at the other.

The sun warms the water to 26c, nine degrees warmer than the adjoining sea.

DARE TO BE DIFFERENT

“All progress occurs because people dare to be different.”
Harry Millner

“Don’t dare to be different, dare to be yourself if that doesn’t make you different then something is wrong.”

“Champion the right to be yourself; dare to be different and to set your own pattern; live your own life and follow your own star.”

The iPhone 3G Gets Unlocked

A group in Brazil has unlocked the phone to run on other carriers' networks, and a hacker team has enabled independent apps to run on Apple's latest handset.

Just a few days after its launch, a group from Brazil has managed to unlock Apple's iPhone 3G to operate on almost any GSM carrier.

On its Web site, DesbloqueioBr posted a video showing the unlocked handset making a phone call.In an interview with gadget blog Gizmodo, developer Breno MacMasi said the unlocking process involved modifying the phone's SIM hardware so the International Mobile Subscriber Identity can be overwritten.

The procedure allows iPhone 3G users to makes calls with any compatible GSM carrier, not just ones with which Apple has an exclusive agreement. But users of an unlocked phone wouldn't be guaranteed to have 3G-network access, and Apple could potentially wipe out the hack with a software update.

I DONT KNOW HOW TRUE IS THIS ARTICLE.There's no word yet on the availability of this hack, but I will keep all of those who don't want to pay roaming charges updated.

MINUS 4 BaR

Get into the spirit of the season and head to a vodka bar made of, you guessed it, ice, and where the temperature is at about minus five degrees.

The bar is made of ice and you'll be drinking vodka out of glasses also made out of ice, and sit on ice chairs and place your glass on ice tables and admire the ice sculptures.

The cost is a lot if you are just looking for a drink, but you have to remember you are paying for an experience. And it is an experience.

Patrons are provided with long coats with furry hoods, and gloves and if you are wearing unsuitable footwear, fur-lined boots are also provided, with disposable socks for hygiene's sake.

Photographs that Changed the World.

I KNOW THE PHOTOS ARE SAD AND DEPRESSING BUT THIS PHOTOS ARE IMPORTANT AS A HISTORICAL REMINDER THAT SOME HUMANS ARE SICK AND NEED TO BE CURED.

1957. The first day of Dorothy Counts at the Harry Harding High School in the United States . Counts was one of the first black students admitted in the school, and she was no longer
able to stand the harassments after 4 days.

1960. A second before the Japanese Socialist Party leader Asanuma was
murdered by an opponent student.

1963. Thich Quang Duc, the Buddhist priest in Southern Vietnam , burns himself to death protesting the government's torture policy against priests. Thich Quang Dug never made
a sound or moved while he was burning.

Rottnest Island

So much for swimming at Rottnest on the north side of
Gage Road

While the ocean vessel 'Pirate' was commercial fishing for dhufish,
this Great White Shark was hooked in the mouth. It only resisted slightly for
5 minutes before it came up alongside the boat to have a look; just long
enough for one of the crew members to slip a rope around it's tail!
And that's when the fun began.

The shark tookoff towing the 35-foot fishing boat backwards through the
water at an estimated 7 knots. Just like in JAWS, the boat was taking on
water over the stern and the crew watched in horror as the shark would actually
jump completely out of the water at times. This went on for an hour before
the shark finally drowned.

She weighed in at 1035 pounds It is suspected she followed a weak El Nino
current into localPerthwaters in search of food. Although mid 20 degree
water is considered ideal for these sharks, the larger ones can tolerate water in
the low 10s.

Amazing Holes

These holes are not only amazing, but some of them are really terrifying. The sheer scale of these holes reminds you of just how tiny you are.

1. Kimberley Big Hole - South Africa

Apparently the largest ever hand-dug excavation in the world,
this 1097 meter deep mine yielded over 3 tons of diamonds
before being closed in 1914.

2. Glory Hole - Monticello Dam, California

This is the 'Glory Hole' at Monticello dam, and it's the largest in the world of this type of spillway, its size enabling it to consume 14,400 cubic feet of water every second.A glory hole is used when a dam is at full capacity and water needs to be drained from the reservoir

3. Bingham Canyon Mine, Utah

This is supposedly the largest man-made excavation on earth. Extraction began in 1863 and still continues today, the pit increasing in size constantly. In its current state the hole is ≤ miles deep and 2.5 miles wide.

4. Great Blue Hole , Belize

This incredible geographical phenomenon known as a
blue hole is situated 60 miles off the mainland of Belize .
There are numerous blue holes around the world,
but none as stunning as this one.

5. Mirny Diamond Mine , Serbia

I'm pretty sure most people have seen this one.
It's an absolute beast and holds the title of largest
open diamond mines in the world. At 525 meters
deep, with a top diameter of 1200 meters, there's
even a no-fly zone above the hole due to a few
helicopters having been sucked in.

6. Diavik Mine, Canada

The mine is so huge and the area so remote that it has
its own airport with a runway large enough to accommodate a Boeing 737.
It looks equally cool when the surrounding water is frozen.

7. Sinkhole in Guatemala

These photos are of a sinkhole that occurred
early this year in Guatemala . The hole swallowed
a dozen homes and killed at least 3 people.
